Thank you to our awesome Color Guard as well as Will and Katlin from the VIP's for honoring our nation by doing the Color Guard for Common Ground (A partnership between the Military and the State Department of Education) at the State Capitol today. We also went by and saw our friend, Secretary of State Mac Warner's office as well. A good day!

Ms. Harless' French students celebrated Mardi Gras this past Fat Tuesday. They brought a King Cake and the King and his Krewe tossed out beads and doubloons to the revelers before leading a masked parade to Jazz music.

Mardi Gras came to New Orleans when French settlers brought old world traditions of fasting for Lent preceded by a raucous celebration with origins is using up the meat and butter which would not make it through lent. Some paraded a fattened ox through the streets.

The students designed doubloons and ball invitations and, created parade before the Mardi Gras celebrations.
