Proud of CHS Science Bowl Team

COUGAR PROUD!

This past Friday, 2 November, Mr. Dorsey and I took nine students to the RESA II/ RESA III regional science bowl at West Virginia State University. We are pleased to announce that out of a field of 24 teams, Capital High School placed third. The two teams that placed ahead of us were both from GW, and we managed to beat the winning team early on in the competition.

This means that once again we will be representing Capital at the State Tournament in Morgantown in February. If you have the following students, please congratulate them:

Riley Apperson
Jamen Goard
Kristen McMillion
Meera Hartman
Jessica Crowder

Mr. Dorsey and I are quite proud of them, and you should be as well.
-Mr. Drake

By the way, for those of you keeping score, that's two trophies in two weekends. We have great kids!

This is only our 2nd year having an FBLA Chapter at Capital High and we had more qualifiers than most schools in our state. Mr. Melvin and Ms. Brindley are very, very Cougar Proud!

Ten National Qualifiers is a great accomplishment. It was a very proud moment for Mr. Melvin and I to watch our students walk across the stage in front of over 800 people to receive their awards! Cougar Proud!   Ms. Brindley
